Hello everyone.  Most of you know me by now, but I thought I would refresh your memories.  I'm your local Kindergarten/Title 1 teacher.  I have been on the job since the fall of 1978.   I came to Doland as a fresh young teacher out of the University of South Dakota.  After four years on campus with about 6000 people, I was ready for the small town life again.  Doland fit the bill.

I came from a small, immediate family of 6, mother, father, sister and 2 brothers. I did have a very large extended family that included 61 first cousins, and it branched out from there.

Of my immediate family my younger brother and my father have passed away.  The Family has also grown.  The oldest in our family, Deanne, is married with a boy and a girl, and one granddaughter. My older brother, Ed, is also married with 5 daughters, and 2 granddaughters.  The males in my family are kind of outnumbered.

My mother, Vi, still lives in our home town of White Lake.  Many of you have heard me mention it from time to time.  I spend much of my summer with her.  Some of you may have even met her, when she comes to stay with me during the school year.  We do have a good time together.

As you may notice through out my website that there are a number of different bears.  I am quite a collector.  They range from wall hangings, music boxes, pictures, and ceramic figures, to my many stuffed bears.  There are two very special ones in my collection, the first one I ever received as a gift, to the one that I made at the bear factory in the Mall of America.  Many of my former students have been to my house to see all of my collection, and they have enjoyed playing with a few of them.  I love to show off my bears.  You will discover that I have a few that I keep around the classroom.  I hope that the class will enjoy them.

That's the facts for now.  Hope you know me a little better, and we are going to have a great year in Kindergarten.
